At HiCheapAir, we understand that travel plans can change. This policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations and refunds.
1. General Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations are subject to airline-specific policies and fare rules
- Refund eligibility depends on the ticket type purchased (refundable vs. non-refundable)
- Cancellation requests must be submitted through our website or customer support
- Service fees and convenience charges are non-refundable in all cases
2. Non-Refundable Tickets
Non-refundable tickets cannot be cancelled for a refund. However:
- You may be eligible for a credit note or airline voucher (airline-dependent)
- Some airlines allow date/time changes with fees
- Taxes and certain charges may be refundable as per airline policy
3. Refundable Tickets
Refundable tickets allow cancellations, but fees apply:

4. Refund Processing Time
- Credit/Debit Cards: 7-14 business days
- Net Banking: 7-14 business days
- Wallets/UPI: 5-10 business days
- Airlines: 30-45 days (for airline-initiated refunds)
5. Airline-Initiated Cancellations
If the airline cancels or significantly delays your flight:
- You are entitled to a full refund, including all fees
- Alternatively, request rebooking on the next available flight
- Contact our support team within 24 hours of notification
6. Special Circumstances
Medical Emergencies: Cancellations due to medical emergencies may qualify for waived fees with valid documentation (doctor's certificate, hospital records). Contact us immediately.
Force Majeure: In cases of natural disasters, pandemics, or government travel restrictions, refunds follow airline and regulatory guidelines.
7. Non-Refundable Charges
The following are never refundable:
- HiCheapAir service fees
- Payment gateway/convenience charges
- Travel insurance premiums (unless policy allows)
- Ancillary services (baggage, meals, seat selection) once booked
8. How to Request a Cancellation
- Log in to your HiCheapAir account
- Go to "My Trips" and select the booking
- Click "Cancel Booking" and follow the instructions

9. Refund Confirmation
Once your cancellation is processed:
- You'll receive a confirmation email with refund details
- Refund amount = Total fare - Airline fees - Service charges
- Track refund status in "My Trips" section
